Strawberries FAQ's

Are frozen strawberries good for you?

Frozen strawberries are good for you! All of the nutrition that is present at the time of freezing, which is soon after they're freshly picked from our farms fields, is locked in. They are also high in Vitamin C, with 100g of our frozen strawberries containing 57mg of Vitamin C*. Frozen strawberries help you to cut down on food waste, as well as your prep time when baking or cooking.

Can you use frozen strawberries for jam making?

Yes, you can! Our fruit is picked and frozen at the height of their season so the quality is high and you won't get runny jam. You will find it takes a little longer for your jam to boil if using them straight from frozen, and you may have to wait a little longer to achieve the right consistency, but you will end up with a delicious Strawberry Jam.

How are our Strawberries frozen?

We pick and freeze our strawberries on our farm in Herefordshire, England - so you can buy them with confidence knowing they are UK-grown. Our British IQF Strawberries are Individually Quick Frozen, which is a super-quick way to freeze fresh food. This method ensures that our fruit will be frozen with almost no ice crystals inside and therefore less damage occurs to the fruit's cells, resulting in a higher quality product.

What are some recipes using frozen strawberries?

Strawberries are perfect for desserts and a firm family favourite. You can use them to make strawberry ice cream, strawberry cake or pavlova, a classic English trifle, jam, and most other desserts you can think of! Frozen Strawberries also work particularly well in a strawberry daiquiri or strawberry margarita, or you can use them to infuse your own spirit to enjoy yourself or give as gifts or wedding favours.

Best things to use with frozen strawberries in a smoothie?

Strawberries are a great addition to most smoothies for a delicious summer berry fix. We'd recommend making your next smoothie with frozen strawberries, frozen banana slices and your choice of yoghurt to make a creamy, fruit smoothie. You can easily add your other favourite fruits, such as summer fruits, blackberries, or raspberries, to this mix to make it your own.
